Tuath Housing manages a diverse portfolio of residential properties across Ireland, providing homes for thousands of residents. Ensuring efficient heating and hot water for tenants is a key priority, making the maintenance of Heat Interface Units (HIUs) an essential part of their facilities management strategy.

The Objective

Frontline Energy was appointed by Tuath Housing to provide comprehensive Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) for all Heat Interface Units across their housing stock. This contract ensures that all HIUs remain in optimal working condition, reducing breakdowns, improving energy efficiency, and guaranteeing a reliable heating and hot water supply for residents.

Beyond regular maintenance, Frontline Energy delivers a 24/7 Call-Out and Emergency Response Service, ensuring any issues are swiftly resolved to prevent tenant disruption. The contract also includes full Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Maintenance, covering all aspects of heating system upkeep.

By proactively maintaining Tuath’s district heating infrastructure, Frontline Energy helps to reduce operational costs, improve energy efficiency, and enhance the long-term reliability of heating systems within Tuath properties.

Services Provided

1. Heat Interface Unit (HIU) Maintenance
  • Annual inspection and servicing of all HIUs.
  • Removal of blockages, debris, or obstructions affecting HIU performance.
  • Checking and adjusting pressure and temperature settings for efficiency.
  • Testing safety devices to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Cleaning and replacing filters as required.
2. Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
  • Scheduling and programming of maintenance visits.
  • Coordination with Tuath Housing representatives and residents to ensure seamless access.
  • Detailed service reports for each property, ensuring full transparency.
  • Immediate rectification of identified remedial works.
3. Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Maintenance
  • Routine inspections and servicing of heating and hot water systems.
  • Maintenance of underfloor heating, radiators, and thermostats.
  • Repair and servicing of valves, pipework, and heat exchangers.
  • Ensuring compliance with manufacturer guidelines and warranty requirements.
4. Emergency Call-Out and 24/7 Support
  • Full-time Call Centre Facility for immediate tenant support.
  • Rapid response emergency service to address unexpected breakdowns.
  • Weekly reporting to Tuath Housing on completed maintenance works.
