A recent report carried out by AIB in association with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland and the Irish Green Building Council into energy costs and the significant impact on every SME in Ireland.
By reducing energy consumption, SME’s have an opportunity to save money which has a direct positive effect the their bottom line.
One of the simplest methods of achieving savings is to switch provider, however this is a short term measure.
Achievable and more sustainable savings are within reach for SME’s with a proactive positive approach.
Frontline Smart Energy offers a straight forward solution for proactive Small and Medium Enterprises, or indeed any business looking at a streamlined approach.
From research carried out by Amarach the following was determined:
- More than half the buildings that SME’s operate in are between 10-50years old. With these older buildings comes tired equipment and fixtures, more often than not these are inefficient and require upgrading.
- Benchmarking can be difficult in this area, 1 in 4 don’t know how they compare to their competitors in terms of energy consumption.
- If finance was available, 59% of all SME’s surveyed would consider carrying out energy efficient upgrade works.
- A lot of businesses have difficulties determining the different sources of energy costs, with only 21% of the companies surveyed able to quantify their lighting costs.
